The Watchings of Yesterday - 07/06/20

So I started yesterday (again) off with an episode of Outlaw Star. Had some more space battle action going on. Now, I don’t know if this is just me, or I’ve come to expect this sort of thing or what, but when the El Dorado was moving faster than was possible… In mind it registered as ‘OK, so it’s impossible, that means there are two of them.’ Which of course, was correct. I wonder if that’s just me or if I’ve seen this tactic used too often.

I said I’d talk about the arms too. Isn’t it a bit funny that arms and hands is the best variety gun platform however many centuries into the future? No cool robot rack interchanging, just regular arms and hands and essentially a holster. If it works that’s OK, but some neat-o robotics like the little Gilliam things are fun too. The pink one is especially amusing.

Then I went onto watching Erementar Gerad again. For some reason as I watch it, not a lot of thoughts go through my mind. I just sort of blanked out while watching it. The one thing I do remember is at the end of the episodes I watched Coud and Ren were happy and what not, and Vero was looking on from some bushes. Then I thought, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” Therefore I predict that some shit will be going down soon. We shall see about that.

And then later on I started Tenchi Universe. Having enjoyed GXP, TU is a bit confusing because not everything matches up with what I remember. Which of course had I watched them in the opposite order I’m sure wouldn’t have been a problem. That aside, I’m not enjoying TU as much as I’ve enjoyed GXP. It doesn’t have the same sort of comedy to it yet, and some of the better characters… Aren’t really characters yet. No one’s feeling very round yet. Hopefully that’ll develop better later though.

With respect to the Tenchi Muyo series…GXP and Tenchi Universe are not part of the same storyline. GXP is a sequel to
the OVAs (1, 2, & 3). Tenchi Universe came out after OVA2, but presented an alternate storyline. It was continued in the
first and third Tenchi Muyo movies and finished with a manga which was published around the same time as the third film.

    I see what you’re saying… guess I mis-read something. Oh well, it’s still interesting.
